Anecdotally--I had a 2009 n54 335i and all it had was an intercooler and OTS Stg1 MHD tune, and it definitely felt slightly faster than my current 2016 340i with OTS Stg1 BM3 in the same configuration (RWD, MT). A full exhaust is a different beast altogether. For power, if you don't plan on tuning then don't waste your time with a downpipe. You're not going to notice much aside from throttle response and a deeper note/louder burbles. If you were going to tune then I would say a downpipe is 100% worth it.that’s why the car vibrates. If you get a downpipe and aftermarket tune you’ll definitely want to remove the cold start function. (cold start is just supposed to head up the catalytic filter in the downpipe, so that’s why it’s commonly removed after catless downpipe installation.)e.
